Philanthrophy
Ronald McDonald House Charities

Commitment to the Alpha Delta Pi international philanthropy, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, was made in 1979 and continues today. Since beginning its association, Alpha Delta Pi has contributed over $2 million to this worthwhile effort. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) supports Ronald McDonald Houses in local communities, as well as funding grants to other not-for-profit organizations whose programs focus on children in need. There are 240 Ronald McDonald Houses in 25 countries, whose function is to provide comfort, care and "a home-away-from-home" for the families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

Upsilon Chapter helps to support our national philanthropy locally by regularly visiting the nearest Ronald McDonald House in Spokane. Members volunteer their time by helping clean around the house, cooking dinners, decorating cookies and socializing with the guests along with any other tasks the organization may need.
Local Events
Last Semester, we debuted our new campus-wide philanthropic competition, "Finding Alphie." Participants were given the chance to win $500 dollars by "finding" our vitrually hidden mascot Alphie. Clues were placed in the newspaper during the two weeks of the event to help with the discovery of the mascot. The women of Alpha Delta Pi were excited with the outcome of the event, raising over $1,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Spokane.
In addition to hosting our own philanthropy events, ADPis can be found across campus volunteering their time at numerous organizations across the palouse. Many of our women are active volunteers with women's transit and the humane society. We also participate in numerous activities on campus such as March for Dimes, Relay for Life and Greek sweeps along with other fraternity and sorority events.
